Sophisticup Fundraising Tips

1. Set your Revenue Goals and Run the Numbers to gauge how realistic they are. Number of volunteers + projected revenue per person = Goals

2. Communicate your Revenue Goals Early so all can understand expectations and provide feedback. Communicate your Goals with your Sophisticup Account Manager so we can support and provide you with fundraising materials to keep you organized and ready to go.

3. Establish your Schedule Early and Communicate. Everyone gets busy, so publicizing your Fundraiser's schedule will allow others to block out time to participate. Check as many community calendars as possible to ensure that your event doesn't conflict with other community activities, maximizing your own. Establish a short, concentrated sales period to maintain interest, control paperwork and revenue, and keep everyone on board.

4. Begin Planning & Mobilization at Least One Month before the Launch if you can. During this time, assign roles for parent volunteers, write letters, prepare posters, and prepare for the publicity buzz targeted at both participants and customers. Contact Sophisticup as early as you have established your schedule so we can be ready to assist you along the way.

5. Prepare your Participants. Spend your prep time educating participants about how to sell your products and how to conduct themselves as representatives of your organization. Educate participants about the value and beauty of the products in addition to providing support for a worthwhile organization. A respectful courteous manner can often convince an undecided customer.

6. Stir Up Interest & Excitment. Publicity is important, so consider posting results as you progress, perhaps utilizing a goal chart such as the favorite thermometer posting. Consider awards for the highest sellers, as this provides individual motivation. Launch the Fundraiser with a festive, Kick-Off Event! You can distribute all the sales materials at that time.

7. Cross-Selling Works! Brainstorm on encouraging multiple sales with each customer. For example, a customer may purchase a Sophisticup Gift Set for personal use. Why not suggest they purchase additional Blooming Teas for lasting enjoyment? Many customers have a need to purchase gifts for clients and other co-workers during the Holidays, so remind them to consider purchasing additional units for this need.

8. Have Fun! When you're selling beautiful products, you are doing a great service to your customers. Enjoy yourselves, and the spirit will spread!

9. Shipment Arrives! Before distributing to the participants, complete an inventory of the delivery to ensure your deliverer has included all the ordered products. When you receive your shipment, set up a specific time to deliver products to parents and participants, and organize parent volunteers for efficient distribution. Have participants sign-off on their sales sheets to confirm they have received the correct inventory for distribution.

9. Close the Fundraiser. Set a final day wrap up the Fundraiser, and consider a mini-event to celebrate your successes!
